Runcibal 2001 has a long and boring history. It belongs to the type of program known as "text adventures,", which seem to have all but disappeared from modern computers.
Runcy Quest was originally developed for fun on an early personal computer (Acorn BBC Model B) while I was in high school. Later, I took the same base game, and converted it to QuickBASIC for MS-DOS systems (Runcibal Quest 2.0), greatly expanding it in the process.
Finally, Runcibal 2001 was created, an expanded and better version. I finally had room to put in some of the code I wanted to, but was limited under DOS.
